Family Meeting = Family Togetherness

Your Kids Will love It!

Do you want greater family togetherness?  Feel the family is “too scattered?”

A great solution is to start a weekly family meeting.

We did this in our family when the kids were around 6 and 9 years old. We held it usually on Sundays – around 4 or 5 in the afternoon.

The kids loved it – and so did we.

What did we do?  Everyone around the circle shared what they were thinking about – were concerned about – during the upcoming week.  We also talked about people who were sick.  Carol and I shared whatever values we wanted them to learn – in a very kid-friendly fashion.

Then we closed in prayer – with EVERYONE praying.

This was one of my great thrills as a dad – to hear my children praying: for each other, for aunts and uncles, for friends who needed it.  And we always shared answers to our prayers, a great faith-building exercise in the kids.

The meetings took only 10 – 20 minutes.

It’s an investment well worth the time!
