Give a Blessing

Your Child will Love It

Your child would love to receive a blessing from you. There are two ways to do this: the formal blessing and the informal blessing.

The formal blessing is where you actually lay your hands on the child, just like the Old Testament patriarchs did. You can then say: “The Lord bless you and keep you CHILD’S NAME, the Lord make his face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you, the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you His peace.

Here’s how one young man describes the blessing he received from his dad: “There is so much more involved in those blessings than just the words themselves. I want you to know that when you came into my room to bless me, I felt very special…I can tell by the way you bless and treat me that you love me. That constant reminder every night is very special to me.”

The informal blessing is simply daily words and actions — small actions such as love notes and hugs.

No matter what the form of blessing, your child will be absolutely delighted to receive such a blessing from his father.
